Peer Review Procedure
The Journal of Comparative Studies and International Education (JCSIE) follows a two-tier double blind review process that takes 8 – 16 weeks. Submissions will be considered by the editors, then sent to at least two referees through our online submission and review system. Our user-friendly online manuscript submission and review system offers authors the option to track the review process of manuscripts.
Review Criteria
Manuscripts should focus on topics, issues, or questions related to comparative studies and international education. The JCSIE is a multi- and interdisciplinary journal that prioritizes manuscripts and book reviews that are global, glocal, international and/or comparative in nature. Manuscripts will be reviewed based on significance and impact, advancement of the field, methods, relevance of findings or argumentation, and clarity and style. The reviewers receive a rating sheet that invites them to consider a manuscript in terms of scholarship, originality, significance, timeliness, data collection procedures, data analysis, discussions, clarity, coherence, and language and style.
Article Processing Charges
The Journal of Comparative Studies and International Education (JCSIE) is an open access journal. Unlike other open access journals, JCSIE does not charge author, in order to ensure the academic credibility of the process.
Volunteer to Become a Reviewer for JCSIE!
The Journal of Comparative Studies and International Education (JCSIE), a quarterly peer-reviewed publication, seeks volunteers interested in serving as external reviewers. Would you kindly please volunteer your expertise?
The external reviewers evaluate the quality and relevance of manuscripts submitted. The JCSIE welcomes reviewers in all areas of expertise and disciplines. If you volunteer to become a reviewer, when we send you a manuscript, we will outline some ethical principles about the peer review process (e.g., confidentiality, quality, conflict of interest), and you will have 5 days to accept or decline the request to review. If you accept the request you will have approximately 2-3 weeks to complete the review. The JCSIE editors use the external reviews to make final decisions about the acceptance or rejection of an article for publication.
We may request reviewers to review manuscripts up to four times per year.
The JCSIE uses a double-blind peer review process in which authors do not know the identity of their reviewers, nor do the reviewers know the identities of the authors. Manuscripts are sent to reviewers only after the JCSIE editors complete preliminary checks. After the external review is complete, the JCSIE editors send to the corresponding author an email about the decision and the comments from the reviewers.
Reviewers need to register with the journal or, if already registered, can simply log in.
Thank you very much for volunteering to serve as an external reviewer for JCSIE!
